This single-level home is situated in an "oasis". It is so private from neighbors and the street and the .63 acres is bordered by towering evergreens and laurel that is placed so that the lake view is not blocked from the home.
Looking down on the home and property that is simply magical!
There is a view of the lake over the laurel which could be opened up if it were pruned.
The front entry is so welcoming with the flagstone walkway and sitting area. The aggregate driveway has plenty of parking for guests, too.
As you enter, you have all the charm of the 1930's home, but with tasteful upgrades and a lovely addition done in 1989.
Looking back at the front entry with the gorgeous fir floors.
The lake views from the entry are lovely above the laurel which is a buffer from the street.
The living room walls are of knotty pine and the contract with that and the fir floors makes this room so cozy and so relaxing.
There is a lovely deck 2" thick wooden deck off the living room to enjoy nature and the serenity of the yard and landscape.
There is a freestanding gas stove for those chilly winter evenings in the corner of the living room.
The eat-in kitchen is so light and bright with the large skylight above the table.
The dining area is currently in the kitchen but there are many other possibilities for it to be. The kitchen is very spacious and has an abundance of cabinets and counter space.
Looking across the dining table toward the gas range and spice cabinet with the entry room to the right and the living room beyond.
Another view showing the spacious kitchen with the operable skylight above the dining table.
The window above the kitchen sink looks out to the driveway and the trees beyond.
The family room is beyond the kitchen and has a large pantry/closet to the left. This room also looks out toward the driveway and the large trees beyond.
The TV or family room opens to the office or den and also to the huge garage (door between the office and the large window). It has beautiful Kempas wood floors which are gorgeous and scores very high on the Janka hardness scale, making them very durable.
The office space is awesome and also has the Kempas wood floors and a huge skylight. The desk is built-in but could easily be removed if not needed.
Looking up at the skylight in the office that brings in so much natural light.
The primary bedroom is at the end of a hall on the back side of the home and opens to its own deck. The room is very spacious and looks to the very old apple tree and large yard.
Another view of the primary bedroom with the laundry room across the hallway.
The primary bedroom has bamboo floors and also two spacious closets.
The bathroom off the primary bedroom has a gorgeous tiled shower and heated tile floors as well.
The primary bath also has a very large dual sink vanity and this room was updated just a couple of years ago.
The 2nd bedroom is also toward the rear of the home and looks out to the back yard.
The full bath is across the hall from the living room and beside the 3rd bedroom.
The third bedroom is one of the original bedrooms from the home constructed in 1937. It looks to the rear yard where the deer like to sleep, eat and frolic!
Like the other bedrooms, this room is also very spacious and has beautiful wood floors.
The garage is extra deep and has so much space. The door off the back opens to the rear/side yards and the 3 year old furnace is tucked in an alcove near the door. The furnace was plumbed for a heat pump should someone wish to add one. The hot water heater is also from 2022.
Just a doe hanging out in the lower back yard beneath this incredible King apple tree! There is even a Madrona tree on this magical property.
A couple more doe passing through this enchanting property that is so serene.
The deck with 3 steps down is just off the primary bedroom and such a perfect place to take in nature any time of the day. Apparently, the deer come onto the deck to reach the apples before they fall from the tree.
Another view of the very private deck that is off the primary bedroom. Look at the size of that King apple tree...it is so large and mature.
This spacious deck has 2" thick wood slabs and a bench seat all around and it is just off the living room.
The privacy of this .63 acre parcel is just amazing to have in town and so close to the lake and trails.
The home has HardiPlank siding that was place number of years ago and the stone from the patio and walkway is also on the concrete foundation.
Looking up to the rear of the home from the lawn below.
This once was a chicken coop and has such a vintage look about it. It would be fun to renovate it and put more chickens in it!
Another view of the chicken coop or little outbuilding that was built many years ago...
The home is at the bottom of this photo in the center and you can see how close you are to Lake Whatcom and there is a public access where Fairview/Cable St/Lake Whatcom Blvd all meet. There are also trails off Fremont St and Lakeview to the Galbraith Trail system.
